Mastering the Block-in - Explores the mechanics of drawing and how to establish a process that weeds out error and encourages a felt response to the model. Students will practice an effective method for starting drawing that abstracts and flattens the figure and focuses on the overall gestural characteristics. Concepts covered include comparative measuring techniques, plumb-lining, point-to-point drawing, enveloping and shape finding. Short Poses (10-40 minutes) with Live Model.
