Event Registration

Students will create a portrait from life using a direct painting technique called 'form painting' that applies individual strokes of color in tiles to suggest the illusion of light. Concepts covered include basic color theory, paint mixing, palette organization, hierarchy of tones on the portrait, and a comprehensive theory of light for artists. Artists will work with a limited number of pigments to more easily mix variants of flesh tone.
