Event Registration

How many times have you looked at a finished piece and wished that the painting was looser and more painterly? It is easy to fixate on small details of what we are trying to paint instead of interpreting the landscape as a whole. Translating what we are looking at is not about painting all the leaves on a tree, or all the flowers in a field or trying to get the composition to match exactly right. When we get tight and detail oriented, we lose any sense of expression in the painting. The emphasis in this workshop will be discovery, simplification of a landscape, and learning new techniques to accomplish a looser, more expressionistic painting. Let’s get loose!!
